Bio:

Prof. Dr. Marc Eulerich has served as Professor of Internal Auditing at the Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen, since 2011. His position, supported by the German Institute for Internal Auditing (DIIR), focuses explicitly on advancing research and teaching in the field of internal auditing (Junior Professorship 2011-2016). He is the Head of the "Center for Internal Auditing Excellence" and serves as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the DIIR.

Prof. Eulerich has published over 140 academic and practical articles and books on corporate governance, internal auditing, and strategy. His research has appeared in journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Information Systems, Accounting History Review, Managerial Auditing Journal, International Journal of Auditing, and many other specialized journals. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

In addition to his research, Prof. Dr. Eulerich actively supports the German internal auditing profession with numerous presentations and research projects, working to strengthen the connection between theory and practice.

As the Director of the research center Prof. Dr. Eulerich oversees the MAARC’s research agenda and vision, driving innovative projects at the intersection of auditing and artificial intelligence, and fostering academic collaborations.
